FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions:
Q. What format are AudioMinx audio books in?
A. Our audio books are DRM-free mp3s. You can play them on any device that plays music mp3s.
Q. I bought an audio book. How do I get it?
A. When you purchase an AudioMinx audio book, you will receive an email from BMT Micro, our download processor, containing a download link for your audio book. Just click the download link to download your audio book.
Once you've downloaded it, use Windows Explorer (Press the "windows" key and "E" simultaneously) to navigate to where you downloaded the file. Double-click the zip file to open it, then double-click "chapter one" to start playing your audio book.
Q. I want to put my audio book on an Ipod or Ipad. What do I do?
A. Once you've followed the steps above to download and unzip the file, open iTunes on your computer. Go to "File" - "Add File or Folder" and navigate to where you downloaded the file. Click the folder containing the audio book chapters to add it to your iTunes account. Then sync your iPod or iPad as usual. The files will be added to your device. They will probably appear under the music category, since that's where iTunes automatically puts mp3 files.
Q. I'm an author. How can I get an audio book published?
A. That depends. If you are traditionally published, your publisher may retain audio rights. In this case it is up to them to decide whether or not to exercise those rights. If, however, you have retained your audio rights, or you are self-published, you can hire an audio production company to create an audio book for you and/or distribute it.
Q. I am a publisher. How can I get audio books made of the books I publish?
A. See above.
Q. How do I get my audio book on your site?
A. You can query us regarding your audio book. Include a brief blurb, length of audio book and a link to where the ebook or print version sells, if applicable. We will forward you more information and request an audio sample. If you are looking for broader distribution of your audio book, we have contracts with Audible, Amazon, iTunes, Overdrive (for distribution to Barnes & Noble, BooksAMillion, etc.) and more.
